Project Description:

    This project is located along the golden tourist line and the ancient Silk Road. It is Urumqi City’s major supporting scenic spot construction project, and it was chosen as one of ten scenes in Urumqi in 2004; The following works as salt bath center, ancient tombs and posts, land survey of Salt Lake Museum, etc., geological prospecting, planning and design, project bidding, building and constructing, etc will be completed in the first half of 2004; It is a travel project of against season developed by utilizing the unique geographical environment and natural salt resources. After having more than two months of try opening in 2003, it reflects very fine for market. The mainland visitors account for 30%, and Xinjiang local visitors account for 40%. This project possesses the following features: uniqueness, unsubstitutability, novel, intellectual and deep development of product; There are not the same geological mineral, topography and tourist development project in the hinterland as Dead Sea of Jordan as the Salt Lake in Xinjiang. The building up of the project, its travel market share is expected to account for 30% of the tourist market of Xinjiang; Tourist industry, as one of the focus industries in the development of western regions, it has already been classified as one of the key items by the municipal government of municipal Party committee in 2004 during industry adjustment of Xinjiang, and so, the policy risk of this project is relatively low; The environment of the project is not good enough, there is certain distance between the whole view effect and the development of the scenic spot, and so it is apt to be threatened by the competition of other scenic spots, and it causes shortening of the life cycle of tourist site.

该项目在新疆黄金旅游精品线、古丝绸之路上，是乌鲁木齐市旅游景区开发重点扶持建设项目，在2004年评为乌鲁木齐市十景之一；2004年上半年将完成盐浴中心、古墓驿站、盐博物馆等土地测量、地质勘探、规划设计、工程招标、建设施工等工作；是利用独特的地理环境和盐自然资源而开发的反季节旅游项目，通过2003年两个多月的试营业，市场反映非常好，内地游客占30%、新疆本地游客40%；项目具有独特性、不可替代性、新奇性、知识性、产品的深开发性；目前新疆和内地还没有盐湖这样和约旦死海相同的地矿地貌及旅游开发项目；项目的建成，其旅游市场份额预计将占新疆旅游市场的30%；旅游业作为西部大开发中的热点产业之一，在新疆产业调整中, 已被市委市政府列为2004年重点项目之一，因此,本项目的政策风险较低；项目地的环境条件欠佳，整体景观效果与旅游景区开发要求的水准之间还有一定的差距，容易受到其他旅游景点的竞争威胁,造成旅游地生命周期缩短。
